The lovely Asian  Erythronium native to Japan and China is allied to the eastern Russian Erythronium sibiricum. The later flowering bulb has lovely dark maroon markings to the base of the petals. The flowers vary between dark and light lilac all having dark pollen. The leaves are not well marked. Plant 8cm deep. 10cm tall
